Jason Brooks, Stuart Semple, Penny Martin, Tessa Farmer, Ellis Scott, Yann Mathias, Justin Champney, Eileen Botsford and awards co-founders Laurie Cansfield and Melissa Sterry named as the judging panel for the 2008 Creative Graduate Prize.
The online visual arts awards were launched in 2005 by web/print/live arts platform Medium Magazine and creative agency, think tank and incubator Societás. Designed to recognise the best emerging illustrators, photographers and artists worldwide the awards annually attract entries from creative graduates in both the Developed and the Developing World.
2008 sees the addition of a new award category for installation art, adding to the existing categories for illustration, photography and short film. Entrants are invited to submit original works to the theme of ‘Identity’. The deadline for entries is 30th October 2008 and the winners will be announced in November.
Creative Graduate Prize co-founder Melissa Sterry says of the awards ‘having bought together a judging panel of some of the most progressive and inspired creatives in the world and launched a third prize category, Laurie and I hope this year we will see the Creative Graduate Prize reach an even greater audience of creatives globally. We have extended the prize cateogries to enable artists working in every medium to participate and hope to see an ecclectic range of entries engaging all genres of the visual arts’.
Further details of the Creative Graduate Prize will be announced on both the Medium Magazine and Societás websites later this month.
