North London writer’s daughter inspired new book

New Christian author Shonette Small admits it was her daughter’s love of books that led to her picking up the pen.
The 48-year-old from North London released the first instalment of her uplifting Binky’s Protectors series to critical acclaim.
And the divorcee has now followed it up with an equally enlightening sequel, Binky’s Protectors: Revelations.
Shonette said: “I have always loved writing from my days in high school, but I was truly inspired by my daughter who loves books.
“I wanted to share my writing with her.”
Influenced by C S Lewis and other Christian writers, Shonette has weaved her own faith into a complex and rewarding new novel.
Binky’s Protectors: Revelations follows the fortunes of Bianca Whitely as she faces up to the trials and tribulations of life.
While Bianca may seem like an everyday teenager with the world on her shoulders, her plight is eased with the arrival of God’s angels.
But can Sparkles and the other angels provide the wisdom and comfort to help her find happiness and true love?
The unpredictable Luke Patterson will never make it easy for the besotted Bianca.
Binky’s Protectors: Revelations is a thought-provoking romantic novel where faith in humanity and God are put to the test.
Shonette explained: “Binky’s Protectors: Revelations is about a family that faces individual and collective struggles and traumas.
“But Bianca and her family also have help from a few supernatural beings, who are God’s angels, to guide them through their difficulties.
“What the family realises as the story unfolds is that none of their tribulations are ever wasted ordeals as there are lessons to be learnt, which can build positive character traits as well as a belief in God.
“Ultimately Binky’s Protectors: Revelations is a journey of personal development and finding faith in God.”
The Enfield author admits some of her ideas for the Binky’s Protectors series of books also came from the hit US TV show, Touched by an Angel.
Shonette is currently working on a third instalment in the series.
