Odyssey Launches into the Interconnected Metaverse at CES 2022
The Odyssey platform plans for future interoperability with use of Ready Player Me avatars

Seattle, WA: Odyssey launches at CES 2022 this week with a presentation of the Wunderman Thompson Intelligence report “Into the Metaverse” with a bespoke virtual experience. With this activation, Odyssey aims to be the metaverse solution for brands creating interactive and immersive experiences for their audiences.
Looking at the future of the metaverse, Odyssey creates digital avatars using the Ready Player Me platform. With these cross-app avatars, the universe of virtual worlds becomes interconnected, as envisioned in novels such as Snow Crash and Ready Player One. Avatars created in Ready Player Me are already being used in more than 1000 games and apps and players are able to create custom avatars that they are able to take between video games, virtual reality experiences, and other apps using a single virtual identity.
“We’re trying to build a cross-game service to enable a lot of virtual worlds to exist,” states Timmu Tõke, Co-Founder & CEO of Ready Player Me. “[The metaverse] is a network of many different worlds that people visit for work and play and collaboration. And it doesn’t really make sense for the end user to create a new avatar identity for each of those experiences. It makes sense to have one portable entity that travels with you across many different games and apps and experiences.”
Reid SantaBarbara, Odyssey, CEO, adds “a key goal of the metaverse is interoperability - the ability for virtual worlds and their assets to be shared across the internet. The choice to lean into Ready Player Me is a strategic one - first, with their robust ecosystem of partner apps, we build into a truly interconnected metaverse system that accounts for future growth. Secondly, their powerful facial mesh algorithm allows for easy-to-recognize avatars to be built from selfies in seconds, a must-have in a professional metaverse setting.”
