Petition on petrol prices to be presented to party leaders

Added: (Tue Apr 12 2005)

Pressbox (Press Release) - PRESS RELEASE - IMMEDIATE

Established website www.findcheappetrol.com today (12th April 2005) launched an online petition which will be presented to the leaders of all of the main UK political parties on 3rd May 2005, two days before the forthcoming General Election.

The petition calls on the party leaders to commit to lower the rate of UK fuel duty in line with the European average rate of duty, which could lead to a reduction of up to 17p in the cost of a litre of unleaded petrol.

Speaking at the launch of the petition, a spokesman for www.findcheappetrol.com said "We have launched this petition today to give the people of Britain 3 weeks to tell the politicians who will rule us for the next four years exactly what they feel about the high rate of fuel duty in the UK compared with our European neighbours."

"It will then be for the party leaders to make public their response, and the voting public to draw their own conclusions."

Note for Editors:

www.findcheappetrol.com is the only source for UK local petrol prices on the Internet following the decision of AA Petrolbusters to discontinue their service.
