Pressbox (Press Release) - The award winning London musical, The Lion King is a must watch for theatre lovers. Walt Disney's popular musical made its London Westend debut in the year 2000. The show has become one of the hottest tickets and still running with packed houses. Julie Taymor's epic production is a brilliant amalgamation of live action, puppetry and stunning sets. The hugely loved classic film has been enlivened up onstage featuring cast of colourful characters.
The atmosphere of the African savannah is beautifully created onstage featuring life sized elephant to the lovable, yet evil hyenas. The show features some great heart touching memorable compositions penned by the talented duo Elton John and Tim Rice such as "The Circle of Life", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "I Just Can't Wait to Be King".
The story of The Lion King is set against the backdrop of African pride-lands. It revolves around the young cub Simba to the King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi. His birth makes Scar, Mufasa's evil brother unhappy and jealous. So, he conspires to get rid of the newborn Prince along with his brother to be the King of Pride Rock. The show also depicts some wonderful relationships of Simba with Nala, Timon and Pumba. All his friends convince Simba to return and reclaim his kingdom. The Lion King is certainly a heart-warming saga featuring a talented cast and musicians. The two hours and forty five minutes show is recommended for 7+ kids.
The hugely famous London Westend theatre, Lyceum Theatre is positioned in the area of London known as Covent Garden. This is one of the most vibrant and exciting part of the city positioned in the heart of Londonís Theatreland. The venue features some of the finest restaurants that cater for every taste.
There are whole range of high street shops and several popular tourist attractions such as the London Transport Museum, Covent Garden Market and the Royal Opera House. You can take a walk to Soho, Leicester Square and Chinatown as they are located at a walking distance from the theatre. The popular theatre is located at an easily accessible location and can be commuted via various modes of commutations such as buses, tubes, taxis and cars.
