Source (Emirates Media Centre). Emirates has recently held their annual event on 28 December 2017. Tim Clark who is the Chief Executive Officer had specially attended this event. Sheikh Ahmad bin Saeed who is Chairman of the company and Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid who is Vice President of United Arab Emirates was also present there. Tim Clark has given briefing to the audience that many of the accomplishments of the company were achieved in 2017. The airline has served to 59 million passengers. Meals which are provided to airline travelers have also amplified to 63 million. Passengers have covered 886 million km on the Earth through Emirates Airline.
CEO of Emirates Airline has said that the company has successfully done several accomplishments despites challengers which were faced by entire team. Employees of the company are doing hardwork for increasing revenues of the company.
Emirates Airline also increased its fleet in 2017. The company has brought several jets like Air A380 Boeing 777-ER, Boeing 787 Dreamliner. These are some of the fastest and biggest passenger jets which can carry hundreds of the passengers at one time.
The airline for first time in its history has also inaugurated Emirates Flight Training Academy which is a unique kind of institution. World class professionals will be trained by this academy. Several notable faculty members are hired for training aviation students.
Emirates have also added new international destinations for the passengers. They can now travel upto to many destinations around the world. These destinations are Newark, Zagreb, Croatia, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Tokyo-Narita, Casablanca, Sao Paulo, Nice, Johannsburg, Boston, Colombo, Warsaw and Bahrain.
Emirates Airline has signed CodeShare Agreement with flydubai and Qantas. Emirates and flydubai will serve over 200 international destinations around the world. Agreement with Qantas will continue to 2023 and better services will be provided to the customers.
SkyCargo has also delivered 2.17 million tons of freight. The company has also started cargo services of pharmaceutical and aimed to become largest pharmaceutical air carrier in the world. Emirates have also signed Codeshare Agreement with Cargolux Airlines for future working.
Emirates also have participated in the Dubai Air Show which was held in 2017 with Boeing 777-300 ER and Airbus A380 for doing flying display. Specific teams of pilots Al-Fursan were specially hired for this purpose.
