Pressbox (Press Release) - Results were stratified by whether or not a patient was of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) origin, and also by whether or not they were receiving ESAs. Differences between categorical groups were analysed using the chi-square (2) test. Differences in continuous outcomes were explored using Panobinostat cell line ANOVA if normally distributed, or KruskalCWallis rank tests for non-parametric data. All analyses were performed using STATA MP 11.0 for Mac (StataCorp, College Station, TX, USA). There were 6,428 patients who had data available for analysis (Table 2). Approximately 15% were Australian Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander peoples, and there were slightly more males than females. The most common primary disease was Type 2 diabetes that did not require insulin. Many patients are not achieving CARI targets for haemoglobin, ferritin or transferrin saturation (Figure 1).
