Pressbox (Press Release) - solar energy facts

Our society has become seriously dependent upon power to make it work. Electricity is used for just about everything from powering our phones to heating our houses. Prior to the discovery of electrical power, light was supplied by lamps, and heat was provided by matches and wood, without any options. Eventually, whole towns and cities could be lit up with virtually no effort on our part.

Folks have always been suspicious of new ideas, and that wasn't any different with electricity and the new products that were run by electrical energy. We presently live in a time where a lot of electric power is being used, that we are running out of the sources that generate it. We have been using non-renewable resources for way too long, we're beginning to deplete them. Power from the sun looks like it's the best of the alternative energy sources and the more that is learned about it, more effective ways are being found for keeping the energy. If traditional methods are used for saving energy, then storing solar energy could mean a continuous usage of water along with other necessities.

A process known as thermal mass systems is where solar power is stored in other natural resources. Alternative sources, such as dirt and water, along with man made resources like concrete, could be used to store the energy, even if only for a short while. At nighttime, long after the sun has come down, your residence and things, such as water, can be heated by thermal mass. These are excellent short-term solutions, but up to now there aren't any long-term storage capabilities for solar power. Another way to save heat could be by utilizing devices which belong to the thermo-chemical phase. This strategy employs a number of storage types like Eutectic Salts and paraffin wax.

Paraffin wax starts as a solid when cold, but when it melts from the heat, it turns to liquid and it can remain warm for a very long period of time. Paraffin wax has the ability to stay warm even when it becomes hard and cools down. An inexpensive way to save heat is by using Eutectic Salts, which can consistently distribute the heat, staying hotter for an extended length of time. One more effective way to store power from the sun is by using Molten Salts, which will be used to make steam. The process begins when molten salts are heated in the storage reservoir. The energy that is generated may be held in rechargeable batteries which can be used for later. Lead acid battery is the most common battery utilized for this purpose.

While there are many ways to keep natural energy, there is still a need to have them be more efficient. Eventually, there will be ways to get an unlimited supply of natural heat when storage methods are enhanced.
