PRESS RELEASE 3rd. JANUARY 2004
EAGLE ROCKŪ LOG HOMES – PROPERTY SECTION.- Submitted by David Mottram.

In the area of Catalunya, north-eastern Spain, log homes are becoming increasingly popular. Eagle RockŪ log homes hold an exclusive agreement to import low cost high quality timber from British Columbia, Canada to the European Community.
The perception of log homes has been that they are a primitive structure providing only the most basic of needs, however the Eagle RockŪ log home models offer some of the most state of the art designs along with total quality, both internally and externally.

Eagle RockŪ log homes with their partner, Land Bank properties are opening their new offices in Cambrils, Catalunya – just 1 hour south of Barcelona.
The area where we are situated in Catalunya consists of complementary terrain – a backdrop of mountains stretching from the Pyrenees that divide French Catalunya from Spanish Catalunya to the various ranges that form a north south barrier dividing Catalunya to the west with the province of Aragon. From the mountains stretch the plains and finally the beaches –of which there are many, with stony coves to long stretches of golden sands hosting a wide variety of water sports and activities.

Cambils itself, boasts one of the finest yacht marinas in the area but retains a traditional fishing industry which provides the very many restaurants (some holding Michelin stars) with their daily supply of fresh fish.
This year, 2004, the formula 1 Grand Prix is being staged in Barcelona and in 2007, Valencia, just to the south of Catalunya is hosting The America’s Cup yacht race. Not forgetting of course, the world famous football club FC Barcelona – you are never too far away from a major sporting activity.

For those wishing to build a house on their own chosen site, land prices are still lower than most of Europe, Eagle RockŪ log homes have available land starting at €10,000 suitable to construct a ‘Little Smokey’ a property of 1,235 sq. ft, imported from Canada and constructed for €65,000 (not including land purchase). Another example at the lower end of the price range is ‘The Sioux’, a property with 2 bedrooms, living area, kitchen and bathroom costing €20,000 for construction.
At the top end of the range Land Bank properties offer building sites as large as 10 hectares (25 acres) which would be suitable for the Eagle RockŪ ‘Elite Rancher’, a property of 5,102 sq. ft and comprises 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, enormous living accommodation – a truly spectacular home constructed in poles of 10” diameter. The home itself consists of 1,356 lineal feet of log.

Enquiries for Eagle RockŪ log homes are increasing rapidly, along with enquiries for building land- in particular from many professional people wanting to live and work from home in a spectacular setting.
We offer over 20 models of log home, and have developed and launched the new ‘Land and Build scheme’ which allows the purchaser to either purchase a building site from the land bank or enter into a contract to purchase a site from the land bank and have a ‘tailor made’ Eagle RockŪ log home built on their site. For this a mortgage of up to 100% is available (subject to status and conditions).
A selection of Eagle RockŪ log home models are available on our temporary web page www.geocities.com/eaglerockloghomes/welcome or email us for a comprehensive brochure eaglerock@terra.es . The Eagle RockŪ web site is currently under construction and will be available for viewing April 2004.
For those wishing to view building sites and our Eagle RockŪ show home, please email as above or contact us by phone on 00 34 630 500 356.
Our promotions over the next few months are being advertised in the national press and selected property magazines.

There have been concerns previously regarding fire resistance of log homes, but tests carried out by The International Log Builders Association, have proven that a log wall with withstand 172 minutes of fire exposure. Furthermore log homes withstand natural disasters far better than traditional build homes – in South Carolina following Hurricane Hugo the only beachfront home left standing was a log home, in 1973, a log home survived a flood in Vermont by staying in one piece and floating down river after its foundations had been cut by flood waters.

Eagle RockŪ log homes are a member of Catalunya Log Home Association and in most areas of Catalunya the Mayor and Adjuntament (Town Hall) are keen to permit the construction of this type of property.
We look forward to your call.

David Mottram.
