Mr. Hugues Mulliez and the rest of Telecel Group Board of Directors, carefully selected 14 innovative startups to be sponsored at the Africa Startup Initiative Program at the MWC 2019. This helped expose the startups to international communities and organizations, attracting international partners that can add value to them.

On February 27th, Telecel Group Hosted a panel to announce the launch of Africa Startup Initiative Program at the Mobile World Congress. Individuals from all over the world joined the panel. Among the attendees, there were government officials, investors, fund providers, and aspiring young entrepreneurs.

The panel presented the startups of Africa, briefly introduced their business operations, and the common challenges startups in Africa face. Furthermore, representatives from 5 startups spoke more about how they turned consumer problems and needs into business opportunities, and the funds and support they presently require.

As Telecel Group stated in the panel, “an ecosystem is like a virtual circus; we need startups and they need MNOs and it’s all about that”.

Telecel Group aims to provide the startups with all the support they require. Hugues Mulliez is the Chairman of Telecel Group.
