Get a taste of "Rhubarb & Custard" at Henley Regatta this year

Rhubarb & Custard, will be displaying a photographic exhibition at Henley Royal Regatta. This year's collection will include some stunning images around the central theme of rowing, in celebration of the Regatta, as well as some beautiful local, national and international landscapes and fine art.

Rhubarb & Custard is a boutique photo-gallery in Eton, which displays and sells a range of contemporary work, from landscapes and still life to portraiture and fine art photography. The gallery features the work of photographer Halid Izzet, whose portfolio consists of a collection of photographs taken in over 30 countries over the past 7 years.

"With the increasing popularity for Photo-art as well as a need for refreshing ways of framing and presentation, we are aiming to provide art lovers and those new to art with something different. Each print will be individually printed on the highest quality archival paper and using the best printing processes available that will last you a lifetime." says Halid.

Rhubarb & Custard will be hosting its exhibition in the trade stand village, located on the towpath next to the Barn Bar at Remenham Farm, at the Regatta. The exhibition lasts throughout the duration of the Regatta, which runs from Wednesday July 1st to Sunday July 5th. All are welcome to pay a visit for a free rhubarb & custard and a preview of what's on offer at the gallery.

The 2009 Collection Limited Edition Prints

We are proud to announce that Halid has this year been commissioned by Henley Royal Regatta to produce a Limited Edition Collectable Series of photographs to commemorate this year's Regatta. All prints are sold through the official HRR website (hrr.co.uk) and the official merchandise shops at the regatta as well as in the Stewards Enclosure.

A collectable series of 17 images, each one limited to just 50 signed, numbered prints. This impressive collection by photographer Halid K Izzet encapsulates the spirit of Henley Royal Regatta beautifully. From its traditional roots to its modern evolution; from its intense competitiveness to its hedonistic pleasures, Halid's subject matter and ambidextrous style perfectly depict the atmosphere of one of England's finest events. Halid owns and manages the Rhubarb & Custard Photo Gallery based in Eton and his work can be seen at www.RhubarbAndCustard.biz.

The Regatta was established at a public meeting in the Town Hall, Henley-on-Thames, on March 26th, 1839, when it was decided that "an annual regatta, under judicious and respectable management, would not only be productive of the most beneficial results to the town of Henley, but from its peculiar attractions would also be a source of amusement and gratification to the neighbourhood, and to the public in general." In 1851 His Royal Highness Prince Albert became the first Royal Patron of the Regatta, since when it has been styled "Henley Royal Regatta".
