TRAVELPLUS PUBLISHES COMMEMORATIVE TITLE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ROYAL AERONAUTICAL SOCIETY

TravelPlus, the UK’s leading business travel magazine, has published a commemorative booklet celebrating 100 Years of Powered Flight in partnership with the Royal Aeronautical Society. The A5 title ‘Fly Back Through Time To Where It All Began’ traces the history of flight from the single-engined, twin propeller Wright Flyer through to the superjumbo Airbus A380. It highlights the century’s milestones for commercial airlines from Handley Page and Instone to Stelios Hajorias and Easyjet.

The booklet forms part of the continuing sponsorship by TravelPlus of the prestigious OAG Airline of the Year Awards, This year’s awards ceremony was staged at the London Hilton, Park Lane earlier this month, and the booklet given to the 500 guests at this gala event.

The commemorative booklet also represents an element of TravelPlus’s current involvement in this year’s programme of events around the UK managed by a group under the Royal Aeronautical Society’s auspices. These events are marking this historic milestone in powered flight. Information about the series of celebrations is on the group’s website www.100yearsofflight.coluk.

Ron Nield, CBE, FRAeS, Programme Director 2003 – 100 Years if Flight, commenting on the special 100 Years of Flight supplement, said: ‘This is an excellent example of the partnership between TravelPlus and the Royal Aeronautical Society; a partnership that is raising the awareness of the centennial of manned, powered flight within the frequent business traveller community.’
