Making A Living In The Music Business When "All The Kool Notes are Out!!!"
Ollie, also known as "Slick 33" realizes that the music business is tough. Still, he says "If you love what you do, you can't give it up at all". His new album "All The Kool Notes are Out" shares his dreams, and determination.
Pilot Point, Texas, June 29, 2009 – “All The Kool Notes are Out" is an album about adventures of life. As a musician Ollie, also known as "Slick 33" shows his life perspective to his fans. He enjoys sharing his thoughts of life, especially through his original songs. As an Artist, "Slick 33" avoids listening to mainstream radio to keep from being influenced from anything less than original writing styles.
Slick 33 has fans from around the world, but he's not counting numbers. He says "I realized that I love to make people laugh" as he demonstrates on several comedy songs. As an honest songwriter and performer, he likes to "tell it like it is".
First influenced by his mother, Slick 33 started singing since he was a young child. The first instrument he learned was the piano, however he picked up the guitar by the age of 8. After singing in church choir groups, and and grade school choir, he continued to eventually pursuit a career in music. He holds onto his big dreams, but has a humble heart. For example, in his song "Hey I'm A Money Tree" he tells a story of writing songs, making it big, making money, big crowds, a big house, and other things that come with a rock star lifestyle. Then in several other songs he speaks of getting by, working a job, paying bills, and ordinary life.
As a performing Artist, he has traveled throughout the USA frequently. It is part of his lifestyle, and he has come to realize that the music business can be tough. He is currently working on new material about his travels. Slick 33 explains that he never wants to just take each day for granite. He says "without each day you would not gain the knowledge from your suffering out here beating the streets with a guitar like I do".
