Rock n Roll Kings come to town!

John T Ford, the first person from Wolverhampton to appear on Top of the Pops and who recorded 3 albums in the 1980’s, has come out of retirement to sing in a new 1950s style rock and roll band called the SunKings.

The SunKings are playing at the Hogshead, Stafford Street, Wolverhampton on Thursday 22nd May and play rock and roll classics from the 1950’s including songs by Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash. Entrance to the venue is free.

John said: “The SunKings can really rock and roll, and I’m looking forward to playing in my home town. I’m enjoying singing live again and from the reaction we’ve been getting, the audiences seem to like us too. The band members are all local and have lived in Wolverhampton for many years. It’s sure to be a great night all round.”
