Commenting on the results, John Pearson, chief executive, Virgin Radio says: “This is a great endorsement of our music policy. We now have a really distinctive offering of our classic tracks and the best contemporary music of today - and it’s giving listeners nation wide a real reason to tune in.
“Reach and hours are up across all our daytime parts which indicates a particularly strong performance by the station.
“We recognise that the station has gone through a period of change over the past months and we are continuing to develop our programming. However, we are now looking forward to building on these results over the coming months.”
