‘Between2Authors’ by Kristie Leigh Maguire at MyShelf.com is cyberspace’s answer to ‘no more Oprah Book Club’.
There has been a great deal of discussion lately as to the lack of good books out there. It has been widely quoted that Oprah closed down her famous book club for this very reason.
I personally believe that the statement that there are no good books, no fresh talent, no - well you get the picture - is a load of hogwash.
It is my belief that if a person cannot find good books in today’s writing world, then they are looking for love in all the wrong places. Oh excuse me, wasn’t that a song title? Do you need a guiding light to point the way to good books and authors? Dear me, I did it again. That is the name of a famous soap opera, isn’t it? We’re talking books here, aren’t we?
There have been several new places springing up, seemingly overnight, to fill the void that was left behind by the demise of Oprah’s book club - Regis and Kelly and the Today Show comes to mind.
But that’s all on TV. Where can a person go on the Internet to find good books? Tired of searching all over cyberspace for that elusive good book? Well, you don’t have to search any further.
