Corporate Stress Management Brings Relief to the Average Work Day
New York, NY, Jan 17, 2002 — Corporate Stress Management (CSM), an exciting organization aimed at major corporations, provides on-site wellness centers to stressed employees and employers at no cost to the companies. CSM combines stress management, muscle relaxation, stretching, rehabilitation, exercise and massage therapy to promote better health in the work place and happier, more productive employees. CSM serves both ends of the corporate spectrum with one-day health fairs for small companies and permanent on-site treatment centers for large companies.
The organization consists of fully licensed soft tissue specialists, massage therapists and rehabilitation specialists based in New York City. Dr. Sheldon Sinett, D.C., who heads the program, has been serving the midtown Manhattan medical community for more than 40 years. His son, Dr. Todd Sinett, D.C., joined him in service several years ago and they have both grown to be renowned experts in soft tissue injuries. Both have been profiled on NBC News, ABC’s “The View”, New York One, GQ and Runner’s World Magazines and FOX’s Good Day New York with Donna Hanover.
Stress in the workplace is a serious and costly problem facing America today. According to the World Health Organization job stress is a major factor in employee absenteeism and is calculated to exceed an annual cost of 12 billion dollars. Many companies have implemented a number of costly programs to counteract this effect, such as providing their employees with on-site massages. However in today’s economy, budget cuts are pushing these paid programs out and employees are suffering more than ever.
CSM has introduced a new alternate to this problem; on-site treatments at no cost to the company. CSM is composed of in-network providers, which enables their services to be covered by a company’s insurance policy. Employees pay nothing but their insurance co-payment, which averages $10 - $20, and employers don’t pay a cent.
The ultimate goal of CSM is to set up permanent on-site wellness centers in large corporations where their employees can be treated on a regular basis to create happier and healthier workplaces. Employers who have brought in CSM have gotten nothing but positive feedback. “Everyone keeps asking me when they are coming back, I never expected this great a response!” said Monica McCole, Human Resources Assistant at HotJobs.com.
Employees love the program and are more efficient after a treatment. Luv, an Investment Banker in Manhattan, states that, “The treatments have helped me immensely. Before I could hardly move after sitting at my desk all day. After a few visits from CSM and the prescribed stretching they gave me, my work days are now back to normal and pain free.” With the additional stress that has been added to everyday life over the last six months, CSM is a positive benefit for employees without cost to the employer.
