CURRENT ISSUES IN CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT
MedUpdate today announced a symposium “ChildProtect: Current Issues in Child Abuse and Neglect II” which will take place on Thursday 28 February 2008 at the NSPCC Training Centre in Beaumont Leys, Leicester. This national study day will have presentations from internationally renowned experts in various aspects of child protection and matters regarding safeguarding children.

The event is aimed at senior paediatricians (consultants, middle grade doctors, SpRs, ST4-8, associate specialist, staff grades) as well as professionals from several other key agencies (family law practitioners, solicitors, barristers, therapists, child protection police officers, social care and safeguarding social workers) and specialist nurses, working in acute and community child health settings.

The aim of this study day is to offer a comprehensive overview of child protection related issues and highlight the most recent research findings based on systematic review and robust research methodology. Attendees will attain confidence and competence in dealing with child protection issues.
