DADCHECK LAUNCHED WORLDWIDE TO PROVIDE STRAIGHT TALKING PATERNITY TEST
dadcheck is the first internet-based paternity test in the world to provide a fast, accurate, state-of-the-art test that talks straight to people in a fresh, direct style.
The www.dadcheck.com website is being launched this month by pioneering North East business scientists. It clears away confusing jargon to demystify the technology surrounding DNA testing and profiling.
Sunderland-based Complement Genomics is the award-winning company behind the new test. The company provides molecular biology services to the drug discovery industry. Its aim is to tailor genetic advances to provide solutions which will benefit as many people as possible, and its team of scientists is already involved with original work to develop genetics tests that can predict the risk of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) and other clinically significant conditions.
www.dadcheck.com splits into two sections – ‘Is it me?’ for men who want to find out if they are the father and ‘Was it him?’ for women who need to clarify who is the father of their child.
dadcheck offers a clear, accurate, competitively priced test, which aims to appeal directly to men and women who appreciate plain talking and a frank, friendly approach.
The easy to use, confidential dadcheck test can be carried out at home or by a GP. The website’s helpful style talks directly to the customer, cutting out scientific jargon. An accurate result is promised within five to ten days.
The dadcheck test is carried out by gently rubbing a soft brush around the inside of the mouth to provide a DNA sample. Full instructions are included with the dadcheck kit. A standard dadcheck test gives the most precise results possible. It proves with 100% accuracy if a man is not the father of a child or that he is the father of a child with 99.99% certainty.
Dr Neil Sullivan devised the dadcheck test at a time when there appears to be a genuine need. Paternity testing in America and Europe is rising rapidly. More than 250,000 tests a year are now conducted in America where the industry is growing by more than 11% a year, and at least 20,000 are carried out annually in Britain.
“What we’re offering is peace of mind,” he said. “Many people are put off by paternity test websites which are tricky to understand, full of technical terms, and don’t get across what you need to know. www.dadcheck.com offers reassurance through plain speaking and a high level of scientific expertise.”
There are now more men than women seeking paternity tests, with many anxious men deciding to take the plunge following months or years of insecurity. In a recent study by the Child Support Enforcement Administration in America 30% of men who took paternity tests discovered that they were not the fathers of the children they believed were their own.
dadcheck project manager Kerry Lowdon believes the customer friendly approach will help many people who are not familiar with DNA tests. “The dadcheck test is a fast, easy way to solve nagging doubts about paternity issues,” she said. “dadcheck staff are also at the end of a free phone to answer any questions.”
The website answers most of the questions people ask, and offers help and support numbers. dadcheck kits can be ordered through the http://www.dadcheck.com site or you can ring the dadcheck free phone number - 0808 145 5789.
