When Richard Mack invested into the Connect 2 franchise operation in 2004, he thought he was building a retirement plan. Having spent years travelling the globe working in sales and marketing for global brand leaders, this was his chance to build a business from scratch (with the support apparatus that a franchise offers), using his many years of skills. Instead he found himself in a nightmare situation, losing buckets of money, to a parent company that appeared to care not a jot. He needed to get out, but that would cost even more money.
Promotional merchandise was meant to be fun, but instead it became a quagmire of broken promises. Richard said the good news was that I built up a strong core base of customers who appreciated the value that my company could bring to their promotional activity, the business was a success, it was simply being strangled by the parent companies bad management
Salvation was at hand when Connect 2 (Franchising) went into receivership in January 2007. Richard quickly moved to set up a new business, thus keeping all of his clients, as well as his all important suppliers happy. Thankfully, we had no debts when the parent company went down, and all of our suppliers have supported us said Richard. He continued, weve built up quite a reputation in the local area, and surprisingly have started to attract some very big names, all of whom value the difference our company can bring to their promotional gifts activity. Until our customers met us, they had been dealing with faceless internet companies who simply took orders for pens over the web. We have been astonished at the turnaround in our profitability since we started on our own as RT Promotions.
RT Promotions, based in Wimborne, Dorset and with a strong web presence, are providers of promotional products, gifts and merchandise, from simple pens, coffee mugs, coasters and mousemats, with your company name on, to corporate clothing with your logo/message embroidered onto the garment.
