As Economy Experiences Downturn Grand-Am Sponsors Turn to Interactive Marketing with AIS Media

Motorsport Sponsors Want a Demonstrated Return on Their Investment

Atlanta, GA/July 2, 2009 – The world of auto racing, like all other aspects of the sporting world, has been affected by the continuing economic downturn with sponsors of the Grand Am – Road Races demanding demonstrative return on their sponsorship investment. As a result, motorsport teams are turning to interactive marketing and web services company, AIS Media, to provide results for race sponsors. At the Brumos Porsche 250 that is being held on July 4th in Daytona Beach, the interactive component of Internet marketing is providing teams and sponsors a tangible way to track— in real time—results of marketing sponsorship campaigns.

“With companies forced to drastically cut their sports sponsorships and several pulling out of this year’s Grand-Am Rolex Series, today more than ever, motorsport sponsors are demanding a proven return on investment for every sponsorship dollar they spend,” said Thomas Harpointner, CEO of AIS Media. “Particularly true in the Brumos Porsche 250 at the Daytona International Speedway, sponsors want more than just seeing their logo on a car, they want coverage beyond the racetrack—they want results they can measure—actual visitor interest in their offerings. This is where the interactive component comes in. With record viewership, the Grand-Am Rolex Series is the most popular televised event second only to the Super Bowl. By using AIS Media solutions, sponsors can instantaneously interact with the influx of traffic to their websites—measuring every action and adjusting accordingly. ”

The next installment of the Grand-Am Rolex Series, the Brumos Porsche 250, will be taking place at the Daytona International Speedway this Independence Day. For the first time in history, a Grand-Am and NASCAR motor race will take place on the same day and track, back to back. Grand-Am’s record viewership will boost NASCAR’s Coke Zero 400 to the most viewed race event in its history. Despite this, many sponsors have threatened to pull out without a viable way of tracking their sponsorship dollars. AIS Media is thrilled to offer Interactive marketing solutions specifically designed for motorsports sponsors and teams.

In addition to offering Interactive marketing solutions to the motorsports industry, AIS Media is a proud sponsor of the #21 Matt Connolly Motorsports / Battery Tender Pontiac GTO-R at the Brumos Porsche 250 piloted by Peter London and Daniel Orr. Watch the Brumos Porsche 250 live on the SPEED channel, July 4th at 2:00pm.
