STEALTH MEDIA GROUP SIGNS IRON SKY FROM BLIND SPOT.
The Nazis went to the moon in 1945. In 2018 they are coming back...
Iron Sky is the brainchild of Timo Vuorensola, the creator of Star Wreck - a feature-length sci-fi parody, seven years in the making with a core group of five crazy Finns, and over 300 extras, assistants and supporters. Star Wreck combined world-class visual effects, a rough-and-ready sense of humour, and a passion that provided the basis for the first-ever Finnish science fiction adventure, which has become most popular Internet feature film of all time. Iron Sky is Vuorensola’s next film and is effectively a cross between Doctor Strangelove and Mars Attacks.
Iron Sky is being produced by Tero Kaukomaa at Blind Spot Pictures. Blind Spot has been producing films for the last 12 years and Tero has produced films such as Dancer In the Dark and the first ever Finnish/Chinese co-production Jade Warrior directed by A.J. Annila, which was visually ground breaking and commercially successful in Europe, as well as the dark horror film Sauna.
Iron Sky is a Finnish/German/Canadian co-production. The German co-producers are 27 Films Production / Oliver Damian, the Canadian co-producers are Perfect Circle / Dean English & Karen Powell and the Finnish co-producers are Energia Productions / Samuli Torssonen.
Towards the end of World War II the staff of SS Officer Hans Kammler made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity research. From a secret base in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late 1945 to create the Black Sun military base on the dark side of the Moon. This base was tasked with building a powerful invasion fleet, to return to take over the Earth once the time was right.
Now it is 2018, the Nazi invasion is on its way and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom…
Iron Sky is in pre-production and being shot for US$10M and the screenplay has been written by Johanna Sinisalo, a Finnish science fiction writer who has had four novels and more than 40 short stories published. Her fiction has won several Finnish and International awards. Michael Kalasniko (Howard Stern’s Private Parts) is also co-writing.
To date the film’s website has received more than 2.8 million hits and increasing, so any distributors getting involved in the film can create a core audience and utilise the benefits of cross platform marketing.
The cast confirmed at the time of writing are Julia Dietze, Gotz Otto, Udo Kier and Tilo Pruckner. In addition the producers are out to leading international cast, which will be announced shortly.
Stealth Media Group is an all rights film distributor and international film and TV sales company. Juan is located in L.A. with Jason Piette and reports to the Joint CEO’s – Michael L. Cowan and Sean O’Kelly.
