Winter preview

'Winter preview'
At this point the coming Winter looks like being average or just below in terms of mean temperatures (Dec/Jan/Feb CET), which would be quite a pattern change on recent years. Obviously confidence isn’t very high at this early stage though.
If you're looking for snow, our current inclination is for this Winter to "deliver" in Northern areas at least. We expect there could be a few significantly large falls of snow across the North during this Winter, further South its more uncertain but this area of the UK may still see its share. December may well be a month to watch for - perhaps we should "look to the East"... We feel another main talking point of this winter may be (high) rainfall during a few intense but relatively short spells.
There could be some fairly frequent Northerly blasts, aswell as perhaps something from the East during December. So something to look forward to for snow and cold weather enthusiasts?!? Maybe!
This forecast is not the official forecast from net-weather.co.uk, it is a preview based on current trends and patterns. Whilst we believe that this is a good guide to what this winter have in store, at this early stage confidence is obviously fairly low. Our official forecast for the period December to February will be released in late November.
End of release.
