WBX.COM MEDIA RELEASE
For immediate release, Thursday, 12th November, 2009

The WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle is a little over two weeks away and ahead of the big day Tony Stafford, racing manager to Punjabi’s owner Raymond Tooth, has shared his latest thoughts on www.wbxtriplecrown.com following the recent announcement of the entries for the Grade 1 feature.

The WBX Hurdling Triple Crown dedicated website contains a wealth of information and includes exclusive content from the likes of Tony Stafford as Punjabi attempts to repeat his 2008 victory in the WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle.

In his latest blog Tony informs readers that “…I saw Nicky at Sandown on Saturday and he told me with a great smile that Punjabi “had his second go up the grass”, that surface happily re-habilitated after a summer version of last winter’s great snow white-out.

“He went up with My Petra (runs in the Paddy Power Gold Cup) and while he gave a big blow afterwards, he went very well. There’s plenty of time to get him ready”.

World Bet Exchange also offers two markets relating to the WBX Hurdling Triple Crown: “Will The First 2 Legs Be Won?” and “Will It Be Won?”

Currently, it is 2.84 to back that the same horse will secure victories in the first two legs at Newcastle in the WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle and at Kempton in the Christmas Hurdle while it is 30.0 to back that the WBX Hurdling Triple Crown is won for the first time.

The WBX Hurdling Triple Crown will once again take in the three Grade 1 2m hurdle races run in Britain each season: The WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle, Christmas Hurdle at Kempton and Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. Any horse that wins these three races in the same season will be eligible for the £1 million bonus.

Iain Turner, PR and Sponsorship Manager for WBX.COM said, “It is fantastic to have Tony Stafford providing exclusive content on www.wbxtriplecrown.com. To have regular updates regarding the well-being of the Champion Hurdler helps whet the appetite ahead of the WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle on November 28th.
I am very grateful to Raymond Tooth for allowing Tony to keep racing fans up-to-date with the horse’s preparations and hope www.wbxtriplecrown.com will become a useful source of information for all National Hunt followers.
We introduced the WBX Hurdling Triple Crown markets for the first time last year and due to their success had no hesitation about offering them again. The layers certainly got away with it last year with only a fall at Kempton costing Punjabi the WBX Hurdling Triple Crown and with it the £1 million bonus.

With the WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle entries having won a combined 29 Grade 1 races this looks to be the highest quality renewal of the WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle to date. I hope the majority of the horses entered stand their ground and go to post at just before 3.30pm on November 28th.

*Prices quoted correct at 13:00 GMT on Thursday, 12th November, 2009.
